ORANNSI PAZUZU

The Finnish quartet pushes the limits for heavy and extreme music on their latest album entitled Muuntautuja, and released on Nuclear Blast Records, October 2024. If Oranssi Pazuzu belongs to a genre, it would be entirely their own, a tonic of distorted noise clusters, psychedelic black metal and radio signals from hostile aliens.

Muuntautuja means shapeshifter and is described as a boa constrictor mutating into an interdimensional, cosmic horror. The chords are unsettling, and the guitar riffs sound like dense white noise, and rhythms are nauseating, creating the impression of marvelous, maleficent being on collision course. Noise effects have always been part of the band’s black metal sound, and in the new transmutation the noise discharge reach violent culminations unheard of.
