The sextetfrom Esbjerg (Western Denmark) plays dark art rock and is fronted bycharismatic Sebastian Wolff. Their mature musicianship and fine songwritinghave resulted in high acclaims from reviewers as well as fans from everywherebetween metalheads and folk/roots music enthusiasts. Kellermensch has madethree studio albums, Kellermensch (2009), Goliath (2017), and Capitulism(2022).

The bandtook its name from Dostojevskij’s novel Notes from Underground,translated into Danish as Kældermennesket (the cellar-person), and theexistential questions from the depth of the cellar are voiced in their songs. Thenew album title is playing with the words capitalism and capitulation andthematizes the urge to give up. Yet, the album has a strong community appeal:We need each other. In the song “Under” it goes like this: “Is there somebodywho can guide me outta here? And carry me back to all the others.”
