JO QUAIL

Award-winning cellist and composer from London, Jo Quail, is working on new material and is likely to bring some of it with her to solo performance at A Colossal Weekend. Jo Quail combines mastery of her instrument with innovative looping techniques to realize her complex and evocative contemporary music often working with other musicians from the art music, rock and metal scenes.

On her latest work, Jo Quail worked with a percussionist, wind instrument artists, and experimental vocalists Maria Franz (Heilung) and Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari, to channel earthly, primal and spiritual energies in her wild and boundless soundscapes. We don’t know quite what to expect from the performance other than it will portray virtuoso class as well as musical vision and bravery beyond imagination!
