Their masterpiece ofa new album Embers (2024) is released via Napalm Records, and the astronauts will bring it to the stage when joining A Colossal Weekend! An instrumental trio based in Wicklow, Ireland, God Is an Astronaut plays progressive, psychedelic rock music adding an occasional sitar, cello or frame drum.
Embers may be understood as slowly dying emotions, ideas and memories, though still capable of catching a fire anew. This conceptualization of embers is met well with the music. Embers may warm you, make your thoughts wander off. Darkness all around you, there is sadness in the melody. Meanwhile the life and beauty in the crackling orange colors glow in your own eyes too.
