Dool
Dool has developed their own unique sound mixing progressive rock music with metal, post-rock and catchy song writing. After their first two albums, they have released The Shape of Fluidity (2024), a reference to Heraclitus’s philosophy: Everything flows, all things come into being by conflict of opposites, and nothing ever stays the same.
Dool asks how we are expected to being ourselves in a world so incredibly demanding, ever-changing and uncertain, how do we make peace with chaos and impermanence? To find ourselves, we must become fluid or at least learn to swim upstream.
The identification with fluidity has a personal story, as lead singer, Raven van Dorst, was born intersex and as an infant surgically forced to live their life as a girl until later deciding to change their name and embracing their hermaphroditic nature.
