Absalon String Quartet is a young Nordic ensemble with members from Denmark, Sweden and Norway, based in Copenhagen. They are winners of the prestigious Danish Radio P2 Chamber Music Competition and Rued Langaard Competition and have recently received the Léonie Sonning Talent Prize. They have been touring round Denmark and given concerts in a large part of the country’s concert halls. “We believe that the world of string quartet is absolutely amazing. It contains the huge complicated spectrum of human emotions and through the rich repertoire, we can share feelings and tell stories of those before us, connecting them to ourselves and audiences. It is a pure form of communication, where we listen and speak together without words, but discover so much more. We want to invite you into your own emotions, through unity, listening and music.” Absalon String Quartet consists of violinists Thera Ortved and Andreas Larsen, Alva Rasmussen on viola and Hedda Aadland on cello.
